David Whetstone leads The North Face’s Global Collaborations and Energy department including Design, Product, Development, Merchandising, and Materials. David is responsible for both creative direction and business unit functions across apparel, equipment, and footwear. With an emphasis on Design, David leads concept and creative with external partners including products, color, material, and print / graphics. Each program reflects a true 50/50 split in DNA with partnering brands to unlock the rich narrative of The North Face.. Collaborative programs include TNF x Gucci, TNF x KAWS, TNF x Cecilie Bahnsen, TNF x Comme des Garcons CDGCDGCDG, TNF x MM6, TNF x Brain Dead, TNF x Online Ceramics, TNF x Dover Street Market, TNF x Yves Klein Foundation, and TNF x Supreme.
Prior to joining The North Face David worked as an industrial designer and brand strategist. Clients included Shinola Detroit, Google, Nixon, and Nike.
